NBA X Kidrobot Collaborate for a Great Cause
Kidrobot is a world renowned purveyor of premium limited edition art toys, signature apparel and lifestyle accessories.
Last weekend we enjoyed the celebration of NBA All-Star Weekend from Los Angeles, with plenty of action happening on and off the court.
Just a few blocks away from the All-Star action taking place at the Staples Centre was the NBA Crossover event, held at The Majestic. The Crossover combined the best of music, fashion, art, basketball and flagship exhibits, which featured a collaboration with Kidrobot.
Kidrobot is a world renowned purveyor of premium limited edition art toys, signature apparel and lifestyle accessories. The brand was tasked by the NBA to curate a series of exclusive Mega MUNNY vinyl figurines customised by eight artists, with a plan to auction them off.
The artists called on to design the Mega MUNNYs include South Korean artist SPARK, Johnny Draco, John Mayhem, Rich B Caliente, J*RYU, Kano, Kumi “Squared Bear” Xiong and Jesse Hernandez. This lineup of artists have all worked on the latest ‘The Wild Ones Dunny Mini Series’ vinyl figurine release by Kidrobot.
The figurines featured a mix of classic graffiti and animation, additional accessories to the existing figurine, NBA gear, glitter, bold lines and even bolder colors. As of February 21st, the current bids on the figures start at USD $500.
Proceeds from the sales of the MUNNYs will be donated to the After School All-Stars Organisation. The organisation helps young children succeed while keeping them safe, and gives them the tools required to do well in school and in life.
