The Plasan Yagu Shines at Expo Seguridad

Plasan's new Yagu is a 95bph armored car. But who cares? What makes this little cart so special?

During the apocalypse, the best things are going to come in small packages.

Established in the mid-eighties, Plasan is a manufacturer that makes mods for chassis', add-ons for lightweight tactical vehicles and is a major supplier of personal protection armor. They are located in northern Israel and have a subsidiary in the United States: Plasan USA.

It's a family company, really. Plasan is owned by a kibbutz, which is a collective community that has traditionally used agriculture as a mean of bringing in income.

And, Plasan will be earning some serious income with this next project. With Yagu, the company is pioneering the small-armored, security vehicle market.

According to Top Gear website, Plasan's new Yagu is a 95bph armored car. But who cares? What makes this little cart so special? That's the thing. In the military, there is a joke soldiers love to make - they refer to vehicles with the same stature of the Plasan Yagu as expensive golf carts. They can only use them to transport personnel around the base because they have no armor, no weapons capabilities, and if it did, it would probably be too heavy anyway.

Yagu is little, yellow and different.

This ultra-light armored vehicle is designed taking inspiration from the Arctic Wildcat. Imagine that same Utility Terrain Vehicle, then throw in air conditioning, weapon/drone capability, and armor ready for the front-line. We’re talking 360 degrees b6+ armor kind of ready.

That means that Plasan's new Yagu is a tight, compact ATV that is built like a tank. It makes maneuvering a tight situation more feasible, and in a wartime situation having a mini-tank means you can go places a normal tank won't.

If you wanted to, you could find street parking for the Yagu.

It's under a tonne and a half which means you could shove a few inside an aircraft to chase drug dealers across the desert.

Plus it’s fun, so there's that.
