With the Chinese New Year festivities in full swing, we’ve decided to highlight some of the best drops that we’re likely to cop with mad red packet dollars.

This year, we see the release of special edition sneakers that are fresh AF, along with other items that stick to the tradition of being red. The colour red is washed all throughout the Chinese New Year themed gear, as it traditionally symbolises happiness and represents fire, good fortune and joy.

Bathing Ape - Year of the Dog

The Japanese brand comes through with dropping yet another Chinese New Year collection, this year celebrating the “Year of the Dog”. The capsule collection features the iconic APE motif with a puppy on black, red and white tees and crewnecks. Little ones can rock Baby Milo versions of the tees and crewnecks.

Nike Air More Money

Continuing the heat of the All-Star Weekend Air More Money models, Nike released a Chinese New Year edition complete with gold embroidered characters.

Nike - CNY edition

The sneaker has a dark colour scheme to place more emphasis on the red swoosh as well as the cheeky heel unit, which has the lucky numbers “590” and “888”. There’s also a detailed embroidery of the Chinese Yuan which symbolises prosperity. (Elders will definitely approve).

Maharashi - Tour Jacket

London-based streetwear label Maharishi fundamentally defines itself by its military aesthetic as well as its strong ethos of respect for nature. The label commemorates the Year of Dog by releasing a tour jacket in Moon Melton wool and features strong gold embroidery of both Chinese and English dogs on the chest and back.

Gucci's CNY Collection

Gucci definitely takes the cake for releasing a 63-piece strong collection in honor of the Year of the Dog. The collection includes denim jackets, hoodies, sweatshirts, jeans, T-shirts and sneakers. You name it and they definitely thought about it! All the pieces feature an iconic Helen Downie embroidery of different breeds of doggos.

The dreamy collection was shot by Petra Collins, a long time collaborator of Fashion guru Tavi Gevinson.
