Jaden Smith x G-Star

Jaden Smith and G-Star are designing a sustainable capsule collection, made entirely with sustainable material.

In his continuous bid to promote sustainability, Jaden Smith has been tapped by clothing label G-Star to design a denim capsule collection, which will be released this year. Yes, the whole collection will be made entirely of sustainable material, with sustainable practices and methods in mind throughout the entire process.

Jaden Smith collaborating with G-Star is an absolute no-brainer as the teen star and founder of Just Water has dedicated himself to promoting sustainable living. G-Star is also no rookie to the sustainable fashion movement, and is slowly incorporating the importance of sustainability into the brand’s ethos. The first collection they produced with sustainability in mind was alongside Pharrell Williams and was titled “Raw for the Planet” which saw a sequel; “Most Sustainable Jeans”.

In an interview with Teen Vogue, Jaden says that G-Star’s focus on making sustainable clothing, as well as the innovation behind developing technology used to make their clothing has inspired him.

He also expressed that the denim brand was spearheading denim sustainability, and even cites the similarity in what drives them to promote sustainable practices in both the denim and water industry, saying there is so much room for improvement.

We have seen the importance that brands place on promoting sustainable practices in the last few years, and G-Star is currently leading the way. This capsule collection will push their message further.
