Lorde Covered Frank Ocean and You’ve Gotta Hear It
Lorde has provided her fans with a cover of Frank Ocean’s ‘Solo’ and her own previously unheard track ‘Precious Metals’.
Earlier this week, Lorde kicked off the North American leg of her world tour, and made a promising start by covering Frank Ocean’s ‘Solo’, along with performing an unreleased song that never made the cut for Melodrama.
The New Zealand native started her tour in Milwaukee on March 1 at the BMO Harris Bradley Center, and gave fans the gig of a lifetime by delivering a previously unheard track with the help of her beat maker. Earlier in February, she teased fans by saying that her upcoming tour may or may not involve a b-side from Melodrama.
“I may or may not have dug up a song that we wrote during the Melodrama sessions that didn’t make it. One that I really love”, said the famous Kiwi on an Instagram story. So far the song is known as ‘Precious Metals’.
On top of this, Lorde also provided her rendition of Frank Ocean’s ‘Solo’, one of the most popular tracks on his 2016 release Blond. Frank Ocean isn’t the only cover the 21 year old has pulled out, as she has been known to cover the likes of Bruce Springsteen and Paul Simon.
Unfortunately, we’ve only got audio and video recorded by phones at her concert, but it will have to suffice for now.
Lorde is currently on tour with Run The Jewels, and the hip-hop duo have also just released a remix of ‘Supercut’ for our listening pleasure. Her North American tour will continue until April, but lucky for us, Australia got to see Lorde tour in late 2017.
