Radiohead Think Dr. Dre Should Be In The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Instead

He then added “it’s in our DNA to be a little ambivalent with award ceremonies.” A recent interview with Rolling Stone also provided similar statements from the band.

O’Brien believes the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is not welcoming of hip-hop artists and added “I’m speaking as a fan of American music, I would have thought that Dr. Dre should have been in here two years ago.”

He then went on to clarify “I would never want to disrespect anything because obviously some amazing artists have been nominated. But if i’m honest I don’t understand it. It’s just a kind of British person going ‘Okay, thanks, what does this mean?”

A shortlist of five inductees will be announced in December before the official ceremony in April. Radiohead are on the longlist with acts including Rage Against The Machine, Bon Jovi and Judas Priest. Radiohead’s Ed O’Brien.
