Snoop Dogg Is Finally a Star
West Coast legend Snoop Dogg is officially a star, and will be recognised on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.
If you happen to be looking at a list of celebs with stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, you'll come across a lot of famous names, but you know whose name you won't come across? Snoop Dogg. We know, it's really messed up.
However, the stars have finally aligned (pun intended) and justice will be served. That’s right, Snoop Dogg will receive a star in 2018. So let's get this show on the road.
Snoop Dogg found his claim to fame when he was discovered by Dr Dre in 1992, and went on to feature on Dre's debut album, before releasing his own classics, such as Gin and Juice, while also releasing several hit albums. In 2013, he reinvented himself as "Snoop Lion" and took on a more peaceful and Rastafarian endeavour after a trip to Jamaica, releasing reggae album Reincarnated.
After a brief hiatus, 2015 marked the return of “Snoop Dogg”, and this year he released his gospel album, Bible of Love.
It's hard to find anyone with a career as busy and as successful as Snoop's, so why did it take so long for him to get “star” recognition? He should have been there 10 years ago if you ask us, and we're insulted that he even has to dole out USD $40,000 to receive his star.
Along with Snoop Dogg, musicians Ice-T and Mary J Blige will also receive a star this year, as will Australian icon Steve Irwin.
