Filip Pagowski Redesigned Every NBA Team’s Logo

Nike recently tapped Polish artist Filip Pagowski to redesign every NBA team’s logo with his own creative flair.
The artist was the mind behind the infamous and iconic COMME des GARÇONS Play heart motif, and has now reimagined all 30 NBA team logos for this capsule collection. It is his very first collaboration and we’re excited to see what the future holds for Pagowski.
In a statement released by the artist, he says “The idea behind the project was not to replicate the original or the official logos of each team, but rather come up with something that portrayed the team or the place they are coming from, or both, and to have it done in some fun way.”
To design all 30 logos, Pagowski decided on three unique elements of each team to play with: the team name, the city it represents, and their mascot. He chose these elements due to their importance on the team’s history and associated graphics.
The artist goes on to discuss the difficulty he faced while designing each logo, by expressing how some teams relocated over time and hence changed their name in the process. Thus, losing some history. An example he cited was the Lakers, who were originally from Minnesota before moving to LA.
The capsule collection is now available via the Nike app.
