Todd Snyder’s New Era Caps Are Now Collectors Items

Todd Snyder has teamed up with New Era to create some new and highly sought after caps for more MLB teams.

Todd Snyder has once again teamed up with New Era to release some newly designed caps, featuring more teams than ever before. But with less caps available, these will soon be collectors items.

Late last year, Todd Snyder wanted to redesign the classic New Era cap, but wanted to keep the project small and personal, so he only reimagined the New York Yankees cap, as he is a massive Yankees fan. Snyder and New Era didn’t anticipate that the cap would be so popular.

The hat sold out in two weeks, and baseball fans and cap enthusiasts were quickly requesting other teams. The range soon included the San Francisco Giants, LA Dodgers, Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, New York Mets and Brooklyn Dodgers.

Their newest collection now features 21 MLB teams in a blue denim that perfectly brings everything together. The denim is part of the final production run at the Cone Mills White Oak Plant in Greensboro, North Carolina, a denim selvedge that has been running continuously since 1905, and was once the biggest in the world. The release also includes new fabrics like glen plaid and tweed.

Snyder said they saw it as a cool opportunity to “celebrate the heritage of cone”, and create hats that appeal to so many people. “I see everybody from a cool kid wearing it with sneakers to a dad wearing it on the train,” Snyder says. “It’s got a bigger audience than just our demographic. It’s really transcending all age groups.”

While many people are unhappy about the closure of the Cone Mills plant, these caps are a genuine and versatile collectors item that should last for a very long time, and not just look good on a shelf. Snyder has done a perfect job of taking a classic and making it new again.
